I received this in an email (excerpt):

Of course I was delighted. And I thanked Lynne for her kind words.

In the past I have lamented and grumbled about the sad state of customer service, or even the lack of a simple thank you, from the people I encounter to provide goods or services I need.

And following on my earlier themes of randomly acting kindly on LinkedIn, I wanted to remind you to

  • thank someone today, or
  • compliment someone for past work, or
  • just let them know that you appreciate their colleague-ship (if that is a word),

remembering this is SOCIAL media and because we don’t do any of the above too often, or often enough.

Exceed your colleagues’ (and clients’) expectations and they will remember to refer you when you need to come to the top of their mind.
