Re-gift yourself

T’was the season when we left off before Christmas.

Still is. In fact every day is a gift day to yourself and to others.

So starting now, focus on better portraying your values and skills in everything you do.

My father used to tell me that “everyday was a test” when I was a schoolboy.

Indeed, every touch you have with clients, prospects, vendors, donors, hiring managers, teachers puts it on the line:

• Yea or nay.
• Call or ignore.
• Interview or pass over.
• Be offered a product or service attuned to your needs (only if you tell them what they are) or receive the standard treatment (and we all know how that has declined!)
• And of course with the casual reader of your LinkedIn profile, every word in every section puts you under the microscope.

Resolve for the new year to be “amazing-er” as I like to say.

So think of yourself as re-gifting to others, and to yourself by extension.

Only you can do it.

Happy new year. And make it a good one right from the outset. I know I am re-gifting myself continuously.
