radarThere is no better feeling than a former client returning to ask for your consult on improvements to their LinkedIn profile after a period of time since we last worked together.

Everyone changes: work focus, personal goals, career objectives, and also another set of eyes to make you look amazing-er as I like to say (and no better time to re-assess than year end, right?)

So that happened twice this past week and it feels very validating; it is rewarding that they asked.

One of them, M, stated his email with “Do you remember me?”

That question was unnecessary:

Of course, I recall M, as we got to know each other very very well when we worked together on his LinkedIn profile.

Second, and the theme of today’s blog post is that M never has to worry about being memorable as he appears regularly on LinkedIn:

  • sharing others’ valued curated material he comes across
  • his own long-form Post comments on something we can all benefit from his perceptive lens
  • his Group comments and answers to questions others pose

In each of theses ways M’s comments show on my LinkedIn Home Page and I see M and follow his activity.

He “pings” on my radar. He is top of mind if I am asked for a referral to someone who does what he does.

That is, only since he is active on LinkedIn.

M, with me you don’t have to start with “I hope you will remember me” ever again. And thanks, it is nice to be back in touch.
