Not a memory lapse, but a real question I was asked when she joined the phone call.
That told me she was typing my name into a search and looking at my LinkedIn profile as we spoke.
You know I was looking at hers.
It’s a best practice to read a profile before you meet someone or speak to them while on the phone.
Same goes for each speaking engagement I hold. I always ask who looked at my profile before they came to the event.
Very few do.
Let’s adopt this best practice and make each “touch” a better one, using LinkedIn as a tool. Imagine the common ground you can find to make the conversation warmer!
