High school–so long ago.
Bob Nolley and I had a lot of classes together in high school and college. We both earned a master’s degree and worked in a bank, went on to endure big corporate America. Also taught in the publicly-held university environment.
There we diverge-he got his PhD. I went into consulting. We rounded the circle by reconnecting on LinkedIn (and FaceBook and Twitter, as we both appreciate the power of networking and social media) and after a few messages back and forth we decided we will work together.
One phone call and it was like the years never passed. Really.
He invited me to his podcast. As he describes it, his broadcast has 10,000 business pros listening,
He “interviews leaders and writers and discusses leadership and workplace issues on this top-rated iTunes show.”
I will record a radio podcast with him and once it is broadcast I will let you know. I love broadcasting my vision and concepts to others, so I am pleased he invited me on the show.
The back story is: the ones you recall well are the ones decades later you enjoy comparing stories with.

The network, though gray haired, is still vibrant!

Bottom line is you never know and while much of my class stays in contact — reunions every five years; annual summer BBQs hosted by a close friend — opportunities do result. It could even be a referral.
