Today's LinkedIn Nugget

@MarcoRubio on #LinkedIn-need more, please

MarcoRubio_LIContinuing my analyses of the LinkedIn profiles of the presidential hopefuls, I will focus on Marco Rubio, the latest to toss his hat in the ring, just today.

Does Marco Rubio’s LinkedIn profile show him as a capable candidate? IMHO, there’s not enough material to make a decision or influence an opinion is reflected on his LinkedIn profile. Senator Rubio has some good verbiage in his Summary and Experience outlining, albeit short, outlining his vision and opinions.

However, there is a timewarp here. The LinkedIn profile seems frozen in 2011; he mentions being a candidate for the Senate, and he won in 2011.

Uh oh. Time for a major rewrite of what he learned and what he needs to convey to the reader (and his/her contribution) to qualify him, and propel him, as a presidential contender, now that he has announced he will to run.

Good that he has a shortened LinkedIn URL. I would like to see that used on his business-oriented political material in the future.

And folks, except for his education, that’s about all he has on LinkedIn.

We need more please.

And Senator, only 40 connections? Really, you must know more people in business than that.

Time to call in those chips, and to do so perhaps you use Twitter and Facebook as well, but LinkedIn is the third leg of the social media stool to show you stuff to serious business voters. Don’t ignore it. The power of the LinkedIn network is immeasurable for you now as you build a brand nationally.

Please refer to my brief analyses of the other Presidential hopefuls’ LinkedIn profiles for other ideas I can offer to make you look better to the business professional community.

Please sir, I want some more.
