I have had my identity stolen. Take it from me, it is NO fun and complicated to maneuver the system, especially when you feel vulnerable and hurt by unknown assailants. I hold a certain bank accountable for its irresponsible processes that allowed this to happen.
So I am especially sensitive to my online security and I consider my LinkedIn profile an asset that is worth defending well.
LinkedIn recently revamped its description of the security they maintain for each of us. I will let them tell it in their own words. Nicely done.
