Continuing the use of LinkedIn by the underemployed theme:
Is
your career trajectory non-linear? A patchwork of great experience and achievement? Multi-industry, different roles without an immediately obvious “classical” progression?
Do you have explainable gaps in years between positions?
Are you an encore careerist?
Luckily LinkedIn provides some guidance to explain your out-of-the-ordinary, yet very valid reasons for your career history in their blog almost a year ago. I just found it again as I was preparing a talk to a group of underemployed women later this week and wanted you to see the excellent examples of wording and explanation they suggest.
Lean on the blog’s suggestions, but not too much. Be creative and use your own words here.
Just stay confident in expressing why you and why you do/did what you do/did.
